Yard Keeper measures which links bring players in and how far a run gets. There are no cookies, no accounts, no advertising and nothing that would recognise you on a later visit.

I run this site and the game on it by myself, and I am the controller for everything described here.
What the game measures
Ten moments, and nothing else:
- a run started
- a run ended because you died
- a run was abandoned because you left, and where in the game you were when you left
- you survived the 3, 6, 9 or 12 minute mark, each mark on its own
- you pressed Again after you died
- you voted in the poll on the death screen, and which option you picked
- you sent text through the feedback box on the death screen
- the notice that the game does not run on phones appeared, and whether the device was taken for a phone or a tablet
- you opened one of my channel buttons at the edge of the main menu, and which one
- you opened one of the patch notes pinned to the tree in the main menu, and which version it belongs to
Each of these carries how long the run had lasted at that point, and nothing about you or your device.
If you arrive through one of my posts, the address you clicked carries a short identifier for that post. That identifier and the page you came from are noted once when the page loads. Open the game directly and nothing is noted when the page loads.
What is never measured
No cookies. No account. No advertising and no advertising network. No analytics service of anyone else. No profile and no identifier that would tie two of your visits together. Your address and your browser version are not part of what I keep. I can count runs, not people.
What stays in your browser
The game keeps your own settings on your device, in your browser's local storage: the language you picked, the sound and music volume, your keyboard and controller bindings, and a counter of how often each sound has played. None of that leaves your device, none of it reaches me, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Where it goes and how long it stays
The site and the game run on my own Cloudflare Worker behind playyardkeeper.com. The nine moments above go into the Workers Analytics Engine of my Cloudflare account and nowhere else. They are deleted after three months.
Cloudflare delivers every request to this site and therefore sees the request itself, including your address, the way any host does. That is Cloudflare's own processing as my processor, and none of it ends up in what I keep.
The feedback box
The box on the death screen sends nothing unless you type something and press Submit. It then sends your text, up to 500 characters, and which run it was about, straight to me. Nothing about you is attached, and it is deleted after three months like the rest. Please do not type anything into it that says who you are.
When you leave for one of my channels
The buttons at the edge of the main menu open X, Bluesky, YouTube, TikTok or Discord in a new tab. From the moment you land there, that platform's own rules apply and mine stop.
Why I am allowed to do this, and what you can ask for
The nine moments are processed on the basis of my legitimate interest in seeing whether the game works and what people do with it, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Under the GDPR you can ask for information, correction, deletion, restriction and portability, you can object to the processing, and you can complain to a supervisory authority.
Because none of what I keep carries your name or any identifier for you, I usually cannot pick a single visit out of the pile, which also means I cannot pick it out to correct or delete it. Write to me anyway and I will tell you what is possible.
When this page changes
The day the game starts measuring something else, this page says so. The date at the top is the day it last changed.
